# [WHAT CHANGED]
Find this spec's change with `git status --short` and `git diff HEAD`; untracked files are part of the change and `git diff` hides them, so read new files directly. Read the relevant files, not only the diff. Make a short list of what a USER or an AGENT can now see differently: a screen or a key, a command or a flag, a tool or a parameter, a message, a config key or a default. If the list is empty (pure refactor, tests only), report PASS with "nothing user-visible" and commit nothing.

# [SPEC]
<spec>
{{spec_content}}
</spec>

# [WHERE TO WRITE]
1. **User docs, {{workdir}}/docs/** (the project's published documentation, user docs only, never design notes): update the page that covers each behaviour the change alters — a command or a flag, a tool or a parameter, a graph verb, a message, a config key or a default. The implementer may already have updated a page: check it says the right thing; fix what is missing or stale; do not duplicate.
2. **{{workdir}}/README.md**: only if the change touches something the README states (a feature line, a key, a table of tools or commands). A table must list exactly what the code registers; if this spec adds or removes one, update the table and any count.

# [LEAVE IT UNCOMMITTED]
- Write the docs under {{workdir}}/docs/ and the README, then leave them in the working tree. A check node after you commits exactly what the tree holds, with the spec's own commit message, so a docs commit is not yours to make.
- Never run git commit, never push, never open a PR, never merge.
- NEVER use --no-verify on any git command, and never set core.hooksPath.

# [VERIFY BEFORE REPORTING]
`git -C {{workdir}} status --porcelain` must list ONLY the docs/ and README.md files you changed (the commit node after you lands the whole tree), and nothing else.

# [PROHIBITED]
<prohibited>
  <rule>NEVER touch production code, test code or a dependency manifest in {{workdir}}, and never edit anything outside docs/ and README.md.</rule>
  <rule>NEVER run or install the product's own binary from inside the loop.</rule>
  <rule>Never document behaviour the code does not have: if the spec asked for something the commits do not contain, write nothing about it and say so in your report.</rule>
</prohibited>

Report PASS with the pages you changed, or PASS "nothing user-visible". **End with exactly one `graph_complete_node` call.**

README

documenter

What this node is for: the documentation step of a spec loop, after the code is finished and green. It writes the user docs the change needs and leaves them uncommitted for the commit node. It never writes or changes production code.

What it reads: {{spec_content}} and the change itself, found with git status --short and git diff HEAD. Untracked files are part of the change and git diff hides them, so it reads new files directly.

What it leaves behind: the updated pages under docs/ and the project's README, uncommitted in the working tree.

Config: prompt_template, the Documenter prompt of canopy-loop-plain, bundled verbatim in node.json. No platform, model, or cli bindings.

What the installer must fill in: a platform and a model at install time; nothing else.

Install:

canopy node install documenter
